Good & Proper Tea's founder Emilie started her venture as a mobile tea van, but soon planted roots in Clerkenwell. She is on a mission to show the world how good tea can be, when it's done right. Her and her team source their award-winning range of teas from around the world, always looking for something special. They then focus on the brewing to ensure every tea tastes just as it should, with a range of beautiful teapots, cups and other accessories for the tea aficionado to peruse.

Having bored her friends for years about the poor quality of tea in London, our founder Emilie finally decided to do something about it. With plans to convert a 1974 Citroën-H van into a mobile tea bar, she took the idea to crowdfunding platform Kickstarter & 372 backers made that dream come true. Each of their names are still displayed proudly on the back window of that van, which the backers affectionately christened ‘Watson’. The first cup of tea was brewed in Shoreditch on the 3rd December 2012. Many years later and thanks to the support of our many wonderful customers, friends, partners and suppliers, Good & Proper Tea has grown to a brick-and-mortar Tea Bar, an online store, a fast-growing network of cafe and restaurant partners – and of course the van too lives on.
