Sally Roberts’ appreciation for scarves was the catalyst that saw her founding Somerville back in 2007. Since then, her designs have developed to incorporate soft-as-you-like cashmere and eye-catching cable knits, and extend beyond just scarves too, with loungewear, socks, hats and bags all making it into the Somerville portfolio. Sticking true to her homegrown roots, Sally works from home and employs other Mums on a flexible basis, ensuring the lifestyles of her staff reflect the brand’s considerate ethos. Today, Somerville has 100 or so UK stockists, and sells globally, in the USA, Europe and Japan. The neutral tones and timeless star-print that kicked the brand off all those years ago continue to be best sellers today.
