Established in 1984, Collective has long supported new work by artists who are at a pivotal stage in their development. In November 2018, we opened our new home on Calton Hill, Edinburgh, featuring the restored City Observatory, which houses our new retail space, Collective Matter. Collective Matter offers a way for us to share artists’ work, alongside a thoughtfully selected collection of makers and brands, through the sale of limited editions, exclusive Collective Matter collections and locally-sourced, design-led, products. Our eclectic choices are inspired by the art, extraordinary buildings, people and heritage that surround us. All purchases directly support Collective and our ongoing work with artists and audiences.
