Hasami Porcelain has developed traditional Japanese craftsmanship to create contemporary ceramics that adopt a chic, minimalist aesthetic alongside an innovative and functional nesting design. The brand’s homeware products are distinct in their soft and smooth texture and matte finish, which give the pieces a modern yet organic edge. Hasami Porcelain is named after the historic town of Hasami, which has been one of Japan’s foremost pottery regions for some 400 years. California-based interior designer Takushiro Shinomoto created the brand, when he and his wife opened Tortoise General Store in Venice (USA), in order to introduce and exhibit Japanese artists and products that use traditional Japanese techniques. Takushiro Shinomoto is also the Creative Director of S/N brassware.
