Sustainability has been part of the original Duckhead mission since they started producing umbrellas in 2012. The guiding principles:

Minimize waste: Everything that is newly produced has an impact on the environment. Original Duckhead continuously work to avoid waste in every phase of production. Long -lived design: to make umbrellas sustainably means to design them so that they last long.

Environmentally friendly materials: recycled p.e.t. -The fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles that are obtained from post-consumer waste. Recycled p.e.t. is a strong and versatile tissue that requires less energy and releases less CO2 into the atmosphere than the production of polyester and nylon fabrics. Each umbrella is made from 9 recycled plastic bottles. The fabric is certified as SCS recycled content. The umbrellas are impregnated with an environmentally friendly, non-toxic AC coating. All packaging that the original Duckhead used for shipping from the factory to the camps and to the retail partners are completely recyclable.

Ethical production: Original Duckhead maintains a long -term partnership with its producer in Lithuania, formerly China, who has committed to ethical and environmentally friendly practices. They only work with manufacturers who share the high ethical and ecological standards. The partner factories are Sedex-Tested and SA8000-certified for work standards, health and security standards, environmental standards and business ethics.
