Like many other legendary 20th century architects and designers, Charles and Ray Eames also spent time designing fabrics to capture their ideas of colors, shapes and materials. The "Dot Pattern" design was created in 1947 for an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The pattern consists of variations of a graphic design made up of crosses and dots to form a larger composition and refers to Ray Eames' abstract paintings from the 1930s.
A great deal of technical and manual expertise is required to process high-quality natural fibers.
