This book is the follow up to Mouse's Wood, which was published in 2022. This river journey starts at the wood and leads to the sea.
The format of this book is similar to Mouse's Wood in that it has fold out pages which reveal extra elements of the landscape; birds that populate the trees, the upper floor of a boathouse, the inside of a canal barge.
The river journey passes through pastoral landscape but also small riverside towns. The birdlife changes as the river nears the sea.
