This set of plates are hand made and hand painted by the Brussels-based designer Isabelle de Borchgrave.

The moulds for the plates are made out of papier-mâché to ensure the uneven texture would be transferred to the porcelain plates.

This gives a wonderful tactile and subtle feel which enhances the design.

The Aquamarine blue and black patterns are then hand painted onto the white surfaces.

The set looks stunning when mixed together- the contrasting patterns are all made in the same colours and work perfectly together.

The large plate also works well as a charger with the smaller plate placed on top.

Isabelle de Borchgrave is a Belgium designer and was comissioned by Belgium brand Serax to make these exclusively for them.
