History Miguel Milá was a pioneer of his generation, born in the 1950s, Spanish industry was in crisis, which means that Milá grew at a time when hand done in hand were not only the norm, but the necessity. This has led Milá to design and create lamps and furniture that remains renowned to date, and his work is now known as the embodiment of Catalan design. While walking in Barcelona in the 1960s, Miguel Milá found an opal globe abandoned in front of a glass factory. He picked it up and, over the years, he has become the heart of this large family. As the name suggests, Cesta (Spanish for "basket"), was designed to contain this fragile piece.
