Aglaia Konrad's work is promoted by her interest in urbanity and architecture in general, and the particular cultural difference. A comparative practice that works equally well for each possible experience of the local. Previous experiences, in 1994 and 2010, intrigued her to undertake a severe study trip through center of Japan in September 2019, mainly in search of metabolist projects. These historical and iconic architectures were also the excuse to explore the nonspecific and the non -iconic of its urban environment, with the same intensity. In Japan Works, full -to -page photographs associations alternate with contact sheets that follow the chronology of this last itinerary. These are illuminated by texts written by the architect and scholar in Japan Julian World. Design: Roger Willems.
