This the first book by Ben Pentreath to concentrate entirely on projects in which he, and his design studio, have had a hand. This means that we get to see his flat in Bloomsbury, his house in Dorset and the pair of bothies in Scotland that he shares with his husband, Charlie Mccormick, two of whaich have appeared in his previous books but appear here re-photographed. We also get to see more than twnty-five other projects; from a country cottage to a city town house and ultimately to the urban planning developments of Tornagrain and Poundbury; projects where Pentreath's house style might be something of an anomaly but are places where he brings his sense of scale, proportion, craft, detail and appropriateness.
Ben Pentreath is both architect and decorator (in the old school sense of the word), and as such there is both scale and detail in all of these projects.
