This handmade product is made from mango wood in Northern India. The tradition of wood craftsmanship originated in ancient times. Artistic woodwork started as a temple and palace craft. The wood is obtained from trees when they reach adulthood and are therefore able to grow fruit longer. The artisans who make this product deserve fair wages. This allows them to take care of their family, send their children to school and improve their life situation. In addition to receiving health care, they work in safe conditions and receive on-the-job training.
