In 2013 Red Wing introduced a new leather for the 877: Oro-Legacy leather as a tribute to the history of the 877 and 875 boots based on designs from the Red Wing archives. Because there is no pigment added during the finishing process of the Red Wing leather the natural character of the leather is emphasised.
