Herbaria Notecards

This set of notecards contains 12 cards, all with differing designs from each other and envelopes. The cards feature designs taken from the collection of pressed flowers that were amassed by Beatrix Farrand.

Farrand (1872 - 1959) was a landscape architect whose work encompassed more than 200 private gardens or estates in the USA and Great Britain. She was one of the founding members of the American Society of Landscape Architects  - and the only woman among the nine founders. She was a skilled archivist, managing her own library, archive and herbarium all fo which were gifted to the University of California, Berkeley on her death. The prints on these notecards are taken from that collection; all specimens gathered from her own garden at Reef Point, Maine.

The cards have accompanying envelopes, which are a pale creamy green colour, and the set also contains a brief introduction to Beatrix Farrand.
