Ex Libris - Fifty Postcards

This postcard set comes in a smart drawer form box in which the postcards are stored and which, once you have used all of the postcards, could be used as a special hidey place for all manner of small treasures.

The cards all have images of bookplates on them. Some of the bookplate designs are those that were commissioned by and used by some of history's most passionate readres including Edith Wharton, Adam Smith and and Charles Dickens.

Bookplates are of course used to identify who a book belongs to; partly out of vanity and also, should you be in the habit of lending books to other people, that the ownership of the book can be identified. There are some fascinating designs across these postcards, and as well as being a useful card to send they would also make excellent bookmarks.

The box includes a short history of bookplates.

Merasurements:

Each postcard measures 14.3cm x 9.8cm
