The 1923 Buccanoy Shirt from Pike Brothers is the perfect way to step up your style! All of the shirts in this series draw inspiration from a historical pattern from the 1920s, which is rooted in the mid-1800s when stand-up collars were in vogue. The beauty of the shorter collar was its ability to be fitted with a more polished, “patricide” collar-piece - adding a dressier, more formal look to the shirt (plus, it was much easier for cleaning and starching!). This style of shirt was widely popular until the 1940s, when collars with turned-down collars rose in popularity and stayed.
