This book reveals the homes of sixty celebrated global designers and decorators. Some of the names of the designers may well be familiar (Veere Grenney, Ben Pentreath and John & Catherine Pawson) whereas others may not be as well known – in the UK at least.
There’s always a pleasure in being able to snoop around the houses of others and this book allows you to do just that while also appreciating how those whose job it is to design spaces for others have decided to live themselves. The homes featured are not those of people who believe that personal style is a secret to keep. Some of the houses are the home as a statment place, somewhere to expouse their design ideals to customers whereas others are a retreat, somewhere to escape, but equally these places can be spaces where the designer is free to do exactly as they please without managing the demands and expectations of clients.
