This book is a story of pasta. Roddy is a resident of Rome who writes a column for The Guardian on the food and food culture of her adopted country. In this book she condenses everything she has learned about Italy's favourite food in a practical, easy-to-use and mouth-watering collection of over 120 essential pasta and sauce recipes.

You might think that you can mix any kind of sauce with any kind of pasta . . . not if you're Italian you can't! In-between the recipes there are short pieces on the history, culture and everyday life of pasta shapes in the various regions of Italy.
