This superb keepsake box is crafted entirely by hand with the passion and care that distinguishes all of Paolo Carandini's creations. The MDF rectangular frame is meticulously covered in red kidskin (a type of parchment made from the skin of young goats) and the lid has a contrasting black border that adds a modern flair.

Since 1991, Paolo Carandini has been creating pieces for the table in leather and calfskin, exhibiting annually at important fairs such as Maison&Objet and Ambiente. In 2000, Carandini opened a shop in Florence and started using parchment, which became the star of the Boxes of Wonder collection, in which - like a book - each box tells a story through images on transparent parchment.
