Okiagari-Koboshi literally means small priest standing. It is a traditional Japanese culbuto made of papier mache and designed in such a way to always return to the vertical position when tilted on the side. It symbolizes perseverance and resistance to adversity, echoing the Japanese proverb: "Seven times on the ground, eight times standing". Tradition has it that we buy a culbuto for each member of the family plus one, in the hope that the family grows in the year. Find the different Culbuto Okiagari. Shinsengumi was a special police force in Japan. The brigade of new elected officials was a samurai battalion active mainly during the 1860s \. The members of the Shinsengumi, defending the city of Tokyo, represented compassion, courage, loyalty and honor. They are easily recognized thanks to their traditional uniform, a blue coat (hai) with a white rope that comes to cross on the chest. On the sleeves, white mountains are represented.
