Near The Bear, North is an alphabet book of the animals, fish, birds and fauna of the North. It has been illustrated by Mick Manning, using the craft process of pochoir, illustrating by means of building up layers through stencils. It is a large format book that will please adults and children alike.
The animals and plants are identified alphabetically by their latin name, so as well as creating interest for children the older reader can brush up on their latin.
At the end of the book is a small written piece by Joe Pearson, the founder of Design For Today, on the process of pochoir.
