With striking illustrations by Alice Patullo and text by Katy Flint this book is an introduction to that insect that is often thought of as the most beautiful and who is both fragile and flamboyant. Within a theoretical glass panelled butterfly house, in the manner of the Palm House at Kew Gardens, the book introduces the life cycle of moths and butterflies before explaining the difference between the two and then splitting them into different families (brush-footed butterflies, swallowtail butterflies, tiger moths etc.) and giving examples of each.
There are also pages with butterflies to by identified by the reader and certain butterflies to be ticked off as the book is read.
