The beautiful Alvess Pictures are made in the Mexican state Hidalgo. These so-called Telangos originate from the Otomi embroidery tradition. Otomi art is not only a way for women to make a living, but also a way of telling their people's story: Each village has its specific use of colours, textures, and forms. Religion and family traditions find a symbolic expression. So every Tenango is an embroidered representation of a rich and complex culture.
