DESCRIPTION:

This Vintage Botanical Print studies the Vanilla 'Planifolia' Tree - a plant famous for being the source of vanilla flavouring across the globe. Part of the vanilla orchid species, the plat is native to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and Northern South America.

This plant also lives under the names of flat-leaved vanilla or West-Indian vanilla after being first scientifically named in 1808. The light yellow-green flowers only bloom for a day and only have a short time where they can be pollinated. The vanilla pods resemble bananas in shape as you can explore in the beautifully detailed illustrated print.

This A3 print has been digitally enhanced to enable the finest quality of detailing, the rich tones of greensand yellows stand out against the dark background and German text.
