The meeting between two emblematic brands, a unique collaboration between the Japanese Catch Ball (with behind Brusher Co) and the Italians of East Harbor Surplus, with the backdrop of the American tennis and shoes of the 1950s as inspiration. A mix that crosses the continents to create a small low basketball among the coolest on the market, and difficult to find so far in France.
These canvas sneakers pay tribute to the real sports tennis from the 1950s \. Made in Japan from Okayama Kurashiki Hampu canvas (reputed among the best in the world) they have a thick and ultra-resistant fabric, which softens over the years, and an organic dye for a slightly faded appearance. Equipped with three eyelets for ventilation and an insole cushion for super comfort.
** An ultra-resistant canvas **
The Kurashiki Hampu® canvas used here, is constructed in all solidity with a thick high density surface. This is done thanks to the slow and methodical weaving technique. With this traditional weaving, the material retains more air which makes the canvas more absorbent, and also more comfortable to wear. With a rough cotton thread, a thick and resistant lime fabric is created, and a canvas that softens over time. It resists water, breathes with your feet and keeps all its beauty over the years. If you are told that it is considered among the best canvases in the world ...
**Vulcanization**
It is not a tribute to Star Trek, but the name of the traditional process for cooking the rubber sole. This unique Japanese technique is carried out by a handful of craftsmen named "ka-ryu" in Japanese, and is transmitted from generation to generation. It implies that each pair of shoes is baked, which gives their rubber soles a very soft and particularly flexible and durable finish. All the shoes are thus handcrafted by fixing a rubber paw on the canvas and putting them in an oven to cook them.
** An organic tincture and washing **
A special technique is applied to the Kurashiki Hampu® canvas: the bio-enzymatic dye which is applied during the production of the canvas fabric. In this process, the canvas absorbs enzymes, which gives it a slightly faded effect and an ultra-soft touch. This enzyme gives life to the canvas and creates a unique and durable color.
** An impeccable finish **
On the front of the shoe, there are three rows of seams that prevent the canvas from tearing up over time, and three eyelets on the bottom offer better air permeability. A small detail that will make all the difference during summer heat. The front is embellished with a nose with tip (with a very 1950's design) to avoid wear and form a resistant shell. It covers the upper part of the canvas, and covers your toes, which also helps the shoe to keep its original shape and prevent it from being damaged. Finally, the back of the shoe is reinforced with a V seam, designed to cover your ankle, for more comfort (and elegance!). And we do not forget the small vintage logo label sewn on the interior tab, for the concern for detail, with an old illustration of the shuttle machine and a brief story of Kurashiki Hampu.
** An ortholite ™ ** ** Comfortable ** sole **
Ortholite ™ is the material most often used for the design of shoes. It is often found in sports shoes in order to improve performance in activities such as race, track and outdoor sport. These soles offer a better cushioning than the insole in EVA (which is generally found in Vans or Converse) and also eliminates the smells of the feet because of its air permeability and its function as a barrier to the 'humidity.
**Size guide**
Be careful if you are not used to Japanese or Korean shoes, they cut European or American models differently. If in doubt do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
