Sleeping Beauty - John Derian - 1000 Piece Puzzle
This is one of three new jigsaw puzzles published by Artisan with art direction and imagery by the John Derian company. Each of the new jigsaws has 1000 pieces; which should be enough of a challenge to divert even the most practiced jigsaw fan. This jigsaw features a detail from The Bower of Roses which was first published by the American print company Currier & Ives in the nineteenth century. John Derian's work with imagery from the 18th and 19th centuries brings images such as the one on this jigsaw to the fore.
The image on this puzzle should be a good challenge for the individual or group effort set to completing the task in hand. As well as the figure of a woman asleep with a book on her lap she is surrounded by a canopy of red, white and pink roses and their foliage.
John Derian founded the John Derian Company in 1989. Today his signature decoupage plates, platters, bowls, paperweights, and other designs are still produced entirely by hand in his New York City studio.
The puzzle comes with a print of the image which can be used to aid your completion of the puzzle or can be framed.
