The foreword in this book is written by Daryn Schnipper, international head of watches at Sotheby's and co-author with Alex Barter of Black Bough of a book that is being released in autumn 2023. The book itself is written by Mara Cappelletti and Osvaldo Patrizzi. Cappelletti is an author of several previous books on Rolex and Patrizzi has worked in the world of watch dealing and auctions for decades.
The book is split according to Rolex model from the Prince to the Yacht Master. Each section contains numerous examples of each model and the details of when each particular watch was offered at auction, where it was auctioned (Hong Kong, Geneva etc), what the estimate was and what the final achieved price was. All of the sales data is taken from Sotheby's sales across the world and the imagery is all from that auction house as well.
There is also a very useful archive of the production years of the various Rolex models and references.
