With chalk paint wax clear you apply a protective layer to your furniture. This makes your furniture water-repellent and scratch-resistant.

For a cupboard one layer is sufficient, for a table top or kitchen cupboard you apply at least 3 thin layers of wax. Chalk paint wax clear is a transparent wax. For a colored wax you can mix the wax with chalk paint™ or use the white, dark or black chalk paint wax. The wax is not glossy, but can be made glossy by rubbing it on.

Always keep in mind a tip from annie sloan herself; the clear wax is like a hand cream. Do not apply too much because this does not absorb and is completely unnecessary and makes the result blotchy! You can apply the clear wax with a lint-free cloth or a special wax brush. Small projects can be done with a cloth, but for a very large cupboard a wax brush saves a lot of work! It is important to cut some small cloths of approximately 15x15 cm before you start. You use these cloths next to your wax brush or wax cloth to distribute the wax and remove the excess. It is also important that the paint is completely dry before you start waxing. It is best to let the last layer of paint harden for 24 hours .
