This cylindrical little basket is crocheted from raffia and works as a small pot, haberdashery, beautiful stones, pens etc. Raffia palms grow in tropical regions in Africa. The fibre is produced from the membrane on the underside of each individual frond leaf. Designed by Afroart Studio Made in Madagascar Size: about H 15 cm, Ø 13.5 cm Material: Raffia HANDMADE & FAIR TRADE Afroart was established was established in Stockholm in 1967, and is now owned by six textile designers, all with an MFA degree. The Afroart team collaborates with local artisans to highlight the craftmanship of the developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. This means that not only are sustainable jobs created for those most in need, but also Afroart’s clients gain access to the world crafts that may not be represented otherwise. All Afroart products are imported directly from artisans or through Fair Trade organizations.
