DESCRIPTION:

This Japanese woodblock print was created in the early 19th century by ukiyo e painter Hokusai.

In an effort to capture Mount Fuji from a variety of places and distances in different seasons and weather, Hokusai created a series of large colour woodblock prints called Thirty Six Views of Mount Fuji.

Mount Fuji, one of the Three Holy Mountains honored by tradition in Japan, is a very important cultural and religious subject believed to be the source of immortality.

This vintage Japanese print has been enhanced digitally to sharpen the colours and has been printed on textured natural white 180 gsm paper.
