DESCRIPTION:

The Quadrangular Passion Flower was a botanical print by English physician and botanical writer Robert John Thornton.

This vintage print was part of Thornton's The Temple of Flora, the greatest botanical book printed in London showcasing illustrations of seventy exotic plants in its native environment. In the print, we can see a Passion Flower, a species widely cultivated in South America that apart from producing strikingly colourful flowers, it also produces the Granadilla, a fruit considered a delicacy by many.
