This Vintage Botanical Print features a stunning illustration of the Ginger 'Zingiber' plant. Originating from Maritime Southeast Asia, the Ginger plant has a vast history and is widely used as a cooking ingredient, in folk medicine and in spices. It was during the spice trade that the Ginger plant was exported from Asia and introduced to the Greeks and Romans.

This art print has been digitally enhanced to enable the finest quality detailing, the black background contrasts the rich tones of greens, the light flowers and rustic roots. This flowering plant is part of the Zingiberaceae family and grows to around a metre tall.
