Hetty McKinnon grew up with the food that her mother prepared and the recipes in this book are a homage to the Asian tradition of cooking that she encountered as a child. The recipes are plant based and show the versatility of these cooking traditions to make food that is hearty, nourishing and deeply flavourful all at once.
Among the recipes that I am already planning to give a whirl are those for ginger and spring onion miso-glazed aubergine, Singapore noodles with corn and cauliflower and the one for a banana and black sesame loaf.
