Isabel Bannerman and her husband Julian are garden designers who have designed and made gardens for numerous clients but also simultaneously created signature gardens at their own homes. They moved out of Trematon Castle in 2012 and since spring 2019 they have been creating a garden at Ashington Manor Farm in Somerset.
This book is a reflection on the process that they started at that property but also how their previous experience of gardening has shaped their thoughts. She considers the elements that she and Julian now consider essential in a garden for themselves. This isn’t a ‘how-to’ guide but more discussion about gardening, designing gardens and the process itself.
