The robot is powered by solar energy and therefore it is ideal to play with it outdoors on a sunny day. If it's not sunny enough or if you want to play at home, you can use a desk lamp with a 60-watt bulb or more of incandescent light (not a low-energy fluorescent bulb), as an alternative light source.
With this Mini Robot your child will learn that the solar panel converts the energy of the sun into electricity, which feeds the motor. The motor turns the first wheel on the solar gearbox, and the gears slow down the motion so that the Robot's cams rotate more slowly.
