Heidi lives with her grandfather in the mountains. She loves life high up on the mountain pasture, the animals, her friend Peter and her grandfather, the Alm-Öhi. Every day out in nature brings new adventures. A little bird got injured and Heidi wants to keep him healthy. Peter's blind grandmother tells her which herb to pick and Peter helps her find it. Three children from the village follow Peter. They know that he has a secret hiding place in the forest. Heidi helps her friend shake off the pursuers. She is the only one who can see the wonderful tree house that Peter built. Up there, swear the two eternal friendship. And there she hides when the teacher is standing in front of the door of the Alm-Öhi to bring Heidi to school.
