The scarf is made by women in a weaving mill in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. This weaving mill employs 20 women.

The premise of Sjaal met Verhaal is to create work for women. By ensuring a continuous purchase of products, you create work and work provides an income. In addition, they support various projects in Nepal that depend on donations. The two largest projects are the children's home in Pokhara, Namaste Community Foundation (NCF) and the construction of a medical post by the Asian Heritage Foundation Nepal.
Sjaal met Verhaal also supports projects in other ways. For example, there are always products with a small error or that remain in the stock. That is not to say that these products are no longer salable. These products are donated to the Diyo Nepal Foundation. They sell these products on small markets and the proceeds go to this Foundation.
