These small kilims are made with old blankets from eastern Turkey. These are large, reworked textile pieces: several layers of weaving are superimposed and then hand-stitched. These small carpets are like fleece and comfortable. They can be used on the floor, on a bench or on a sofa. Each room is unique. They are reversible and each side is different. In addition to the visible stitching, some carpets have embroidered patterns like flowers or stars, very stylized: the artisans took the step of leaving the signs of wear and tear of time with these aesthetic mendings. In this sense, these pieces evoke the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi which is based on the appreciation of the patina of old objects and the authenticity of the material.
They are bordered at the four corners of pompoms surmounted by a colored pearl.
These are very raw and original pieces that will be perfect in footboard for example.
