This lovely "klein wondertje” (little miracle) garland is made by women from the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu and surrounding areas. The paper they use comes from the lokta plant found in the Himalayas and is produced by hand. This involves such a large-scale production process that at least 100 pairs of hands are needed, including those of designer Floris Hovers.

By making this product from lokta paper, the women from Kathmandu earn their own income, which makes them independent. In collaboration with Plan International Nederland, part of the profit is spent on vocational training, mostly for young women. A beautiful product for you, a better life for them.
