Russell and Robert's podcast, Talk Art, is one of my go to listens. This book is the natural accompaniment to that audible experience.
On the podcast they chat to someone from the art world in each episode, be that an artist, a curator or someone who sees themselves as, if not a collector, then someone interested in art. The chats are always warm and insightful, I can particularly recommend the episode where they chat to Lucy Jones.
Part of the aim of the podcast is to demystify the art world and the book aims to achieve the same. The chapters concentrate on a type of artwork, from performance art and public art to ceramics and cartoon art. Each chapter is illustrated with multiple images and comes with suggestions of other artists to look at as well as the ones highlighted in the text.
