At the beginning of the 80s, a subculture flourished in Valencia that, on its journey from the purest underground to its consolidation as a mass phenomenon, would end up causing important reverberations at the national level. We talked about what was known on the street as cod.

Wide-ranging sociopolitical issues formed a stigma that, for decades, would condition everything related to this movement to the point of making invisible, in many cases, the richness and exuberance of the artistic dynamics it generated. Although the musical aspects are part of the collective imagination, the graphic section that accompanied it has largely remained hidden... until now.

Graphic Route. València's sound design recovers this entire universe by putting it in context and giving it a hitherto neglected value. It was the spontaneous genesis of a particular aesthetic that, spurred by the vital torrent that marked the end of the dictatorship, decisively influenced several generations. Elisa Ayala, Paco Bascuñán, Quique Company, Sento Llobell, Ramón Marcos, Edu Marín, Pablo Mira, Paco Roca, Armando Silvestre... are just some of the artists who parade through these pages, largely responsible for giving an image to the desires of freedom from that eternal night.
