For example, it would be said that a tsunami has been caused by Bakekujira, the ghost whale, the avenging spirit of a whale that was killed. A jealous woman they have cheated can become a threatening monster. A fox that has been injured by a hunter will become a kitsune and burn the house of his aggressor ...

The character of the Yôkai is never black or white. They are rarely completely good or bad. They are always between one thing and the other. Sometimes they are nice and benevolent and often terrifying!

** Fleur Daugey ** is a writer, journalist and ethologist. Inspiration comes mainly from beings that inhabit nature. Although his favorite study subject is the human being.

** Sandrine Thommen ** He was born in Cévennes. He studied first at school stated and later at the School of Decorative Arts of Strasbourg, where he currently lives after having traveled around the world.
