Holbein at the Tudor Court
Hans Holbein the Younger (1497/98 - 1543) was one of the most perceptive painters of the Northern Renaissance. The drawings, paintings and miniatures in the Royal Collection form one of the most important surviving groups of the artist's work, including the majority of the portrait drawings from his time in England. His sensitive and lifelike depictions bring us face to face wuth some of the key figures of the Tudor court, inlcuding Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour, statesman Sir Thomas More and the poet and politician Sir Thomas Wyatt.
