Designed by Antonio Aricò, the collection of terracotta objects '' Magna Graecia '' revisit the Greek relics of southern Italy in a cartoon key. Inquired of Mediterranean culture, Antonio Aricò worked around the world before returning to Calabria where he grew up. Greek culture is very present in this region full of statues and objects. In some villages there is still a derivative of Greek, more than 2500 years after the occupation ... with '' Magna Graecia '', Antonio Aricò interprets this Greek legacy using terracotta, all in a playful and contemporary way. '' Magna Grecia '' reflects a more Mediterranean than Calabrian image. It refers to the Magna Grecia of antiquity but also to the Roman emperors, to Sicilian traditions such as Moro's head. ... To create the many pieces of this collection, the designer has accumulated many drawings that has transcribed in volume with 3D software. The characteristics of these drawings were subsequently replicated identical terracotta. ... Antonio Aricò: “This is the first time in my career as a designer that the final pieces are exactly what I designed. We find modernity but also the purity of traditional processing. Above all, I didn't want to reply, memories. These objects are contemporary and designed with a Fun Spirit, which is that of Seletti. The objects are decorated with family reasons of the Doric and Ionic columns, wave and erotic motifs, just as we discover them, as children, on ancient vessels. Among the key pieces of the collection, many busts and statues carved with references to antiquity inspired by "Riace bronzes", statues of warriors of the fifth century BC, still wrapped in many mysteries. The designer imagined female figures: women and men mix like this, as in Greek culture, in a certain fluidity of genres. ...
