The PLINT watering can is made to last for many years. It is made of thicker than usual iron sheets, stronger welds and a rough finish.
When the watering cans are finished, they are hot-dip galvanized. They are immersed in a zinc alloy that is at a temperature of 460 degrees. Zinc clings to iron like a thick syrup. When the watering can comes back on, hang it and drip for 20 minutes. This is the absolute best way to prevent iron from rusting.
Watering cans that do not receive paint, those that maintain the zinc color, begin a slow oxidation process. That is, zinc matures slowly in color. If you want this process to go faster, you can apply a weak acid, for example a sour milk product. It accelerates oxidation which gives it the matte surface. Hot dip galvanizing loses its complete correctness security after about 50 years.
Since the watering can is made of hot-dip galvanized metal, you can leave it with water inside if you don't use it all.
The watering can is for outdoor and indoor use, it does not tolerate frost if there is water inside.
