** Fábrica ** is one of the most iconoclastic creations of Ricardo Bofill. Former cement factory located on the outskirts of Barcelona and discovered by chance during a car walk, this building became, from 1973, the heart of the life of the famous Catalan architect, housing both its residence and the seat of his agency. In this space, Ricardo has designed a unique universe, revealing the concrete forms buried under years of dust and smoke, leaving nature reinvesting the structure and subtly adjusting the balance between its monumental scale and a delicate human sensitivity. It is also one of the first examples of rehabilitation of an industrial building, a project still evolving.
