Marimekko's famous poppy pattern Unikko was launched in 1964, when the design house's collections consisted mainly of abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to turn this organic theme into something interesting and created a whole range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower stands for creativity.
