This vase is a new iteration of the range of swirled and mottled glass vases that have been handmade for HAY, the Danish design house. The vases all differ slightly fron one another as they are made by hand. The process by which glass is made and formed is fascinating. If you want an insight into it then the TV show Blown Away is a really good starting point. Pieces such as these are blown and the original clear glass blob of hot molten glass is rolled in various other coloured pieces of glass before it is blown into a mould.
