These planters are made from fibre clay. Fibre clay is a substance that has some of the qualities of clay where the finish of the product is regarded but also has the benefit of being more frost proof and also lighter.
Having said that when you have filled the larger of these pots with compost and plants they are still going to be pretty hefty.
These Draycott planters by Garden Trading come in two different colours: pebble and limestone. They all have a single drainage hole in the bottom and have slightly raised 'feet' which means that the whole base doesn't sit on the ground and thus aids drainage.
