Jesus Malverde, also known as "The generous bandit" or "Angel of the poor" was a Mexican outlaw from the state of Sinaloa who is venerated as a saint by popular folklore.

In recent years he has gained much popularity among the poorest sections of Mexican society as well as among illegal migrants marching to the United States.
